the Guatemalan highlands, Lake Atitlan nestles between mountain
cliffs to the north and three volcanoes to the south. At the
foot of these volcanoes are the Mayan towns of San Pedro la laguna,
San Juan la Laguna, and Santiago Atitlan. In Arte Maya
you can enjoy the colorful works of the contemporary Mayan artists
from this region and learn about each artist's journey to his
vocation. The calendar is sponsored in part by the nonprofit
organization Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala (NISGUA)
and the artists benefit directly from (a portion of) the calendar
