Santa Catarina Palopo
- This girls 3-panel huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom and features
the beautiful blues that Santa Catarina Palopo is well-known for in the
1990's and later. It was made by Lucia's daughter, Ana. Fairly tightly woven with geometric designs.
Sides are closed, Panel ends are fringed. In good to very good
used condition.

Santa Catarina Palopo -
This girls 3-panel huipil was hand-woven on a backstrap loom. It features
the traditional red background and figures that Santa Catarina Palopo wore
prior to the 1980's. It was probably made in the past few years with the
older style colors. I believe the base material is cotton, with the
figures of a combination of natural and synthetic threads.
Sides are closed. Panel ends are fringed, one side selvage finished with
closed fringe (indicating back-strap loomed) and
open fringe on other. In good to very good used condition.

- Used huipil in generally good condition, but some of the lighter
brocaded threads in the design (lighter green, pink, tangerine) show
definite signs of wear (may have been a different type of thread). Panels selvage finished on one side and
fringed on other.
Price had been reduced to reflect the thread wear.

Santa Catarina Palopo
- The base of this beautiful huipil is the dark chocolate that seems
to be the favored trend today for younger women. It makes a striking
contrast for the fine blues and other jewel colors of the brocaded figures
of quetzals, butterflies, corn, deer, tree of life and geometric designs.
The three panels panels have 3 ends selvage finished and 3 sides with long
fringe. Neck is finished. Sides of the huipil are closed. The condition of
the used huipil is very good with a few loose threads.

Beautiful Santa Caterina Polopo foot-loomed skirt. The simple blue, black
white design is distinctive and represents an older style of skirt. But I
believe it is probably reasonably contemporay. Dark Blue base
made of cotton and acrylic threads with beautiful jaspe designs of flowers
and geomorphic forms. Very good used condition. Fabric 35.5" by 95".

Santa Caterina Polopo 2-panel foot-loomed tube skirt. Blue base
made of cotton, acrylic and "metalic" threads with thin jaspe designs of multiple colors.
Some damage on this skirt. The selvage edges show wear. Also one
repair (I didn't notice it when I bought it) where there was a about a 6"
tear along a stripe that the owner had closed by making a "dart" type
repair. condition: fair with repair and fabric of used skirt somewhat
"brittle". Fabric 39" by 90".

Santa Caterina Polopo 2-panel foot-loomed tube skirt. Blue/black base
made of cotton and acrylic threads with interesting quetzal and flower jaspe designs of multiple colors.
There is some damage to this skirt including a hole (see picture) and wear
area where the fabric is quite thin. This affects about 8" of the fabric
length (I might just cut out this section and re-seam it, depending on how
you want to use the fabric) Also the selvage edges of the skirt have
been crudely hemmed. Otherwise the fabric of the skirt is in good condition. Fabric 35.5" by 95".
