Maria TeodoraMendez de Gonzalez's  Oil  & Embroidery Paintings from  Santiago Atitlan area Guatemala

Maria Teodora Mendez de Gonzalez makes these unique combined media paintings/embroideries. She is from the San Pedro Laguna/ Santiago Atitlan area of  Guatemala.  Her work and paintings are included in "La Pintura del Lago Atitlan" by Paola Garia (I have a limited number of this reference available for sale).  Her work is done on black cloth and combines beautiful embroidery of the textures and patterns of everyday life with the oil paintings of faces and people that the area is well know for.  Their size is  approximately  9 x 11.
