"In Guatemala's highlands Lake Atitlan, nestled among mountain cliffs to the north and three volcanoes. At the foot of these volcanoes are the Tz'utuhil Maya towns of San Pedro la Laguna, San Juan la Laguna , and Santiago Atitlan. Tzutuhil is one of nearly thirty Mayan language groups.  Here, the most colorful of the contemporary Maya artists of Guatemala work."  A portion of sales of this calendar assist the Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala ( NISGUA ) , a non-profit grassroots organization, and Arte Maya Tzutuhil which supports Maya Artists." This years calendar includes a brief explanation of the Mayan Calendar.  Its a great way to begin to understand the complex Mayan calendar. En Espanol and in English!   

The calendar's size with pictures is 14 inches by 21.5 inches.  The portion of the calendar with dates  and place to write the dates of importance to you is about 8.5" x 9.5".

  To the left of the calendar is a picture of the artists with their families and a short write-up about them. Three of the 12 featured artists are women.
